AAA is helping ensure safe holiday celebrations with the return of its Tow to Go program, offering a free ride and tow for impaired drivers during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The program is available starting Tuesday, December 24, at 6 p.m., and will run through Thursday, January 2, at 6 a.m.

The Tow to Go service is designed to remove impaired drivers from the road by transporting them and their vehicles to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. It is available to both AAA members and non-members, providing a lifesaving option for those who might otherwise drive under the influence.

How to Access Tow to Go

Drivers needing assistance can call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246 to request the service. AAA emphasizes that Tow to Go should be used as a last resort, as the auto club also expects to respond to a high volume of calls for car trouble during the busy holiday season.

A Lifesaving Tradition

For over two decades, Tow to Go has been a holiday fixture, helping to prevent accidents and save lives. Since its inception, the program has safely transported more than 25,000 impaired drivers.

“AAA is committed to keeping roads safe during the holidays,” a spokesperson said. “The Tow to Go program offers an alternative to impaired driving, allowing everyone to celebrate responsibly and make it home safely.”

Plan Ahead for a Safe Holiday

AAA encourages everyone to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using ride-sharing services, or arranging for alternate transportation. The Tow to Go program serves as a critical backup for those without other safe options.

This holiday season, let’s prioritize safety and ensure a joyful and accident-free start to the New Year.
