The Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors recently voted 11-5 to kickoff fall sports practice on August 24 during a meeting at the Best Western Gateway Grand in Gainesville, Florida/

The FHSAA Board of Directors included a clause that would allow schools to opt-out of competing by September 18.

That gave school districts throughout the state flexibility, which was important given the different challenges that are taking place all over the state.

Osceola County moved quickly in establishing a strategic plan for the restarting of their academic year. The plan gave options for families to decide how they wanted their children to learn as the new school year commences.

This, of course, affects the fall sports programs as well. Here are the current dates that we expect the school district’s  sports to begin according to the district athletic director: (Please note that these dates could change)
