County Commissioners selected Brandon Arrington as Chair of the Osceola Board of County Commissioners for the upcoming year on Monday, effective immediately.

Arrington is the first back-to-back chair since Ken Shipley in 2007 and 2008. It is his 5th one-year term as chairman, which is most leading the County Commission in the last 22 years.

“I’m honored and humbled that the board has the confidence to select me once again to chair the County Commission,” Arrington said. “We remain focused on the future and I will do my best to continue leading us toward a better tomorrow. We’ve learned so much about the grit of our community over the last 2 years – and I’m confident that good things await in the New Year.”

Arrington represents Osceola County District 3. First elected to office in 2008, he previously was selected as Chairman in 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2021.

During the same meeting, District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer was selected Vice Chair for the second straight time.

“As we have for the past several years, I have no doubt that this board will remain steadfast in advancing projects that focus on public safety, affordable housing, infrastructure and our economy in the coming year,” Janer said. “Personally, I plan to focus efforts more on our seniors, as I feel the pandemic has shown us that this segment of our community can be overlooked.”

Los Comisionados del Condado Osceola Escogen a Nuevo Presidente, Vicepresidenta

Condado Osceola, Florida – Los Comisionados del Condado seleccionaron a Brandon Arrington como presidente de la Junta de Comisionados del Condado Osceola para el próximo año el lunes, efectivo inmediatamente.

Arrington es el primer presidente consecutivo desde Ken Shipley en 2007 y 2008. Es su quinto mandato de un año como presidente, que es la mayoría de los mandatos al frente de la Comisión del Condado en los últimos 22 años.

“Me siento honrado de que la junta tenga la confianza para seleccionarme una vez más para presidir la Comisión del Condado,” dijo Arrington. “Seguimos enfocados en el futuro y haré todo lo posible para continuar guiándonos hacia un mañana mejor. Hemos aprendido mucho sobre la determinación de nuestra comunidad en los últimos 2 años, y estoy seguro de que más buenos momentos nos esperan en el año nuevo.”

Arrington representa al Distrito 3 del Condado Osceola. Elegido por primera vez para el cargo en 2008, anteriormente fue seleccionado como presidente en 2011, 2015 y 2017.

Durante la misma reunión, la Comisionada del Distrito 2, Viviana Janer, fue seleccionada vicepresidenta por segunda vez consecutiva.

“Como lo hemos hecho durante los últimos años, no tengo dudas de que esta junta se mantendrá firme en el avance de proyectos que se centren en la seguridad pública, la vivienda asequible, la infraestructura y nuestra economía en el próximo año,” dijo Janer. “Personalmente, planeo enfocar los esfuerzos más en nuestros adultos mayores, ya que siento que la pandemia ha demostrado que se puede pasar por alto a este segmento de nuestra comunidad.”
