The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has updated the charges for both Christopher J Otero-Rivera and and his father Angel Luis Rivera. They have now both been charged with the premeditated murder of Nicole Montalvo.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said missing St. Cloud mother, Nicole Montalvo is a victim of murder.
On Sunday afternoon, Sheriff Russ Gibson announced that the human remains discovered Friday had sadly been identified as Nicole Montalvo and that the search for Montalvo had come to an unfortunate end.
“Our investigation is now switching gears from a missing persons case to a murder investigation,” Gibson said.
Montalvo’s remains were found where her estranged husband, Christopher Otero-Rivera and her father-in-law, Angel Luis Rivera, live in St. Cloud.
The Osceola Sheriff’s Office has also been searching a second property on Henry J Avenue, which is just only few blocks away from the Hixon Avenue property where Montalvo’s remains were found.
“Our investigation is by no means complete. We’re really just beginning to uncover a lot of different facts from the case,” Gibson said.
Sheriff Gibson also said, “to anyone who might be involved, that there is no rock that they can hide under, and no pond that cannot be drained to find the evidence needed to find Montalvo’s murderer.”
There will be a candlelight vigil for Nicole Montalvo at 7pm at the St. Cloud Lakefront beach area. Click here for more details about the vigil.
