ORLANDO, Fla. — As voters across Orange and Osceola counties prepare to elect a new judge to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court, attorney Christina Arguelles is presenting herself as a candidate whose legal experience, community roots, and commitment to impartial justice have prepared her to serve on the bench.

Arguelles is seeking the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court Judge, Group 2 seat, a nonpartisan office that serves residents of both Orange and Osceola counties. If elected, she would preside over a wide range of cases, including felony criminal matters, major civil disputes, family law, juvenile, and probate cases, making decisions that impact thousands of Central Florida residents each year.

A longtime Central Florida attorney, Arguelles has built her legal career representing individuals, families, and businesses while handling complex litigation and advocating for clients through some of life’s most challenging moments. Throughout her campaign, she has emphasized the importance of applying the law fairly, treating every person with dignity and respect, and maintaining the independence expected of the judiciary.

“As a judge, my responsibility would be to uphold the law with fairness, integrity, and impartiality,” Arguelles has said throughout her campaign. “Every person deserves to know they will receive equal justice under the law.”

Outside the courtroom, Arguelles is a wife and working mother who says those experiences have strengthened her appreciation for service, accountability, and the importance of listening— qualities she believes are essential for anyone entrusted with serving as a circuit judge.

Arguelles campaign has attracted support from a broad cross-section of the Central Florida community, including members of the legal profession, public safety organizations, community leaders, and educators.

Most recently, the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association announced its endorsement of Arguelles, citing confidence in her candidacy. For Arguelles, the support of local educators carries special meaning.

“As a working mother, I understand the incredible impact teachers have on our children, our families, and our communities,” Arguelles said. “Their dedication extends far beyond the classroom, and I am deeply honored to have earned their trust and support.”

The teachers’ endorsement joins previous endorsements from organizations including the Florida

State Fraternal Order of Police, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Fraternal Order of

Police, the Florida Sheriffs Association District 7, and the Osceola County Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3284, reflecting support from both the education and public safety communities.

The election for Ninth Judicial Circuit Court Judge, Group 2 is nonpartisan, meaning candidates do not run under a political party affiliation. The position carries significant responsibility, requiring judges to interpret and apply the law fairly while ensuring every individual who appears before the court receives an impartial hearing.

Early voting is currently underway in Orange County, while Osceola County voters can begin casting their ballots during Early Voting starting Friday, August 7. Early voting in both Orange and Osceola counties concludes Sunday, August 16, ahead of Primary Election Day on Tuesday, August 18.
