The magic of Christmas is beginning to take shape in Kissimmee as Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center welcomed a team of internationally renowned ice artisans on Tuesday, October 20, officially launching the intricate carving process for this year’s highly anticipated ICE! attraction, featuring The Polar Express.

With the holiday season approaching, approximately 40 master ice artisans from Harbin, China, have traveled more than 7,000 miles to Central Florida to transform an astonishing two million pounds of ice into a spectacular winter wonderland inspired by the beloved Christmas story.

The artisans received a festive welcome from hundreds of Gaylord Palms employees, who gathered to celebrate their arrival with cheers, signs, and noisemakers. The celebration also featured a traditional Chinese dragon dance performed by Orlando’s Wah Lum Chinese Temple, recognizing the international talent and craftsmanship behind one of Central Florida’s most popular holiday attractions.

Now, the real magic begins.
