Kissimmee, FL – City of Kissimmee is inviting residents, homeowners, and contractors to take part in a pair of upcoming virtual Lunch & Learn sessions focused on hurricane recovery, storm preparation, and understanding the permitting process following storm damage.
The May edition of the city’s Development Services Lunch & Learn Series is titled “Hurricane Recovery: Permits, Repairs, and What to Do Next,” and is designed to help the community better understand the steps to take both before and after a storm impacts the area.
According to the city, the sessions will cover a range of important recovery topics, including how to prepare properties ahead of severe weather, immediate safety measures after storm damage occurs, and which types of repair work require permits versus work that can be completed without one.
Participants will also learn how to apply for repair permits, what to expect during the inspection process, and where to access recovery resources and assistance following a storm event. The sessions will conclude with a live question-and-answer segment where attendees can ask city staff questions directly.
City officials said the virtual training is intended to help residents avoid common permitting issues while ensuring repairs are completed safely and in compliance with local regulations.
