Early Monday morning, a tragic two-car crash in Osceola County resulted in one fatality and left another individual seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident took place around 5:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Orange Blossom Trail and Ham Brown Road, close to Kissimmee.

A 2011 Hyundai Sonata, attempting a left turn onto Ham Brown Road from South Orange Blossom Trail, collided with an oncoming 2006 Honda Civic. The impact of the crash forced the Honda off the road, where it struck a concrete pole. The driver of the Hyundai was declared dead at the hospital. He has not been publicly identified.

The driver of the Honda, a 33-year-old man from Brandon, sustained serious injuries and was transported to HCA Florida Osceola. Following the crash, the intersection was temporarily closed, and re-opened hours later after the crash was cleared.

FHP is still investigating the fatal crash.
