Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a pickup truck who they say is responsible for fatally striking a Kissimmee woman late Friday night who was walking across Poinciana Boulevard near US192.

The pedestrian who was killed was identified as a 37-year-old Kissimmee woman and was was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado as it traveled southbound around 11:50pm, according to the FHP crash report. Troopers said the woman was not in a marked crosswalk and walked in a westerly direction in the direct path of the pickup truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the crash report says.

The driver of the pickup truck left the scene after the crash. The pickup was found later in a nearby parking lot, FHP said.
