Osceola Council on Aging and Meals on Wheels America played some serious “Senior Bingo” that included prizes, a variety of entertainment, music, dancing, and a check presentation of $25,000 to thank them for all the hard work it takes to feed the community.
Bingo Blitz, the world’s largest online, free bingo game, coordinated a “Super Bingo” event that showcased the great work that the Osceola Meals on Wheels does locally, but also to create awareness of the Meals on Wheels America movement nationally. The staff of Bingo Blitz were on-hand to entertain the seniors at the Osceola Council on Aging and in their homes, via the internet, by playing Bingo, meeting a superstar volunteer, and bringing smiles to the Osceola Council on Aging seniors for the day.
“We feel honored to have been chosen the Meals on Wheels program in Osceola County for this event,” said Wendy Ford, CEO of the Osceola Council on Aging. “On top of all the surprises and entertainment for the seniors, they will be presenting a check to the Osceola Meals on Wheels program, so we can continue with our mission of ending senior hunger in our community. We are grateful!”
Created in 1971, the Osceola Council on Aging is the largest social services organization in Osceola County, providing a wide array of services and programs to meet the needs of our community. Though the name implies services for just the elderly, our scope of services extend to families as well, helping during crisis to enable generations of residents to cope with challenges.
