First Lady Jill Biden, along with White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, paid Osceola County a visit on Thursday hoping to encourage people to get their COVID-19 vaccinations.

First Lady Jill Biden and White House Chief Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci, addressed healthcare workers and leaders on Thursday at Osceola Community Health Services, a local non-profit health agency lead by CEO, Belinda Johnson Cornett. Biden and Fauci greeted residents who were getting COVID-19 vaccinations at the health agency’s drive-through vaccination site.

U.S. Representative Darren Soto and his wife Amanda, an Osceola County public school teacher, greeted the First Lady and White House Chief Medical Adviser at the airport and later at the Osceola Community Health Services vaccination site.

The First Lady is currently on a tour for the White House focused on increasing vaccination rates nationwide ahead of President’a target date to reach a vaccination rate of 70% nationally before July 4. After the stop in Kissimmee Biden headed to Tampa for a “Shots on Ice” event at the Tampa Bay Lightning game.
