Some big changes took place at Walt Disney World on May 1, 2019. Guests who want to smoke will have to do so outside the parks. Disney announced in March it was closing smoking areas inside all theme parks, water parks and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

There are designated smoking areas available outside the entrances and at Disney Springs. According to Disney, the removal of smoking areas is intended to provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits. This ban also includes vaping.

Disney has updated several other park policies that went into effect May 1st, including a ban on large strollers and ice. Strollers larger than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long will no longer be allowed starting Wednesday. Stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted. Disney’s reasoning behind the reduction of stroller sizes is intended to ease guest flow and reduce congestion, making the park experience more enjoyable for everyone who visits.
