The Florida Department of Health in Osceola County’s Women, Infants, and Children program will a Breastfeeding Happy Hour for expectant and new moms on the first Monday of each month.

This free monthly support group is facilitated by WIC Breastfeeding Educators and offers education on the benefits and the common challenges of breastfeeding.

“Our team is excited to bring moms together in an environment that allows them to support one another during their breastfeeding journeys,” said Candace Kirkland, FDOH-Osceola Breastfeeding and Peer Counselor Coordinator. “These support groups give expectant and new moms access to important breastfeeding education and resources that empower them to make decisions that benefit their baby.”

Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the health department’s main campus located at 1875 Fortune Road in Kissimmee. No appointments are necessary.

To ensure that babies and moms have all the support that they need, family members and friends are welcome to take part in this support group.
