On Saturday, the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County partnered with Sold Rock Community Church in Kissimmee for a Back to School Celebration that provided those in attendance with backpacks, school supplies, groceries, back to school immunizations, COVID-19 educational materials, and COVID-19 vaccinations.

“We are excited to partner with Solid Rock Community Church to provide immunizations and education on COVID-19. Our goal is to ensure that our community has accurate information to make an informed decision about COVID-19 vaccinations,” said Vianca McCluskey, FDOH-Osceola Administrator. “We are committed to ensuring access to vaccinations and encouraging community and faith-based organizations, businesses and schools to host vaccination events.”

In order to create easier access to COVID-19 vaccinations, the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County (FDOH-Osceola) is providing local COVID-19 vaccination opportunities, similar to the event held at the Solid Rock Community Church.

“What we’ve realized is that access is an issue, so what we’ve done is provided community and faith-based organizations, schools, churches, with an opportunity to request a COVID-19 vaccination event. They can make their request through our website, Osceola.floridahealth.gov. There’s a vaccination request button and they can request a vaccination event where we will come to them, and help vaccinate their students, congregation, or their staff. It’s just another tool we’re using to provide vaccinations to our community,” said Public Information Coordinator Jeremy Lanier.

If your Osceola County business or organization is interested in hosting a vaccination event may call 407-552-0120 to schedule, or visit Osceola.floridahealth.gov.
