The Central Florida Expressway Authority has announced overnight ramp closures on State Road 417 (Central Florida GreeneWay) for Sunday, March 30, and Monday, March 31, as part of its ongoing capacity improvements project between International Drive and State Road 528. The work is scheduled to take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.
The closures will allow for paving and bridge work to continue safely and efficiently. Here’s a breakdown of the affected ramps and detour instructions:
Sunday, March 30 (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.):
-
Northbound SR 417 to Dowden Road (Exit 24): Closed for paving. Drivers will continue north to Lee Vista Boulevard (Exit 27). Tolls on this detour route will be suspended.
-
Dowden Road to northbound SR 417: Closed for paving. Drivers should head south on SR 417 and exit at Moss Park Road (Exit 23).
-
Moss Park Road to southbound SR 417: Closed for bridge work. Detour directs drivers to travel north on SR 417 and exit at Dowden Road (Exit 24).
Monday, March 31 (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.):
-
Dowden Road to southbound SR 417: Closed for bridge work. Drivers will be detoured northbound on SR 417 to Lee Vista Boulevard (Exit 27).
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time. All scheduled work is weather-dependent and may be postponed or extended if necessary.
This work is part of the SR 417 Capacity Improvements Project that began in February 2021, aimed at increasing mobility and easing congestion on the corridor. The project is anticipated to be completed by early 2025.
