It’s that sweet time of year again in Kenansville—Chapman’s Double C Bar Ranch has officially opened its blueberry fields for the 2025 U-Pick season! The family-friendly blueberry farm is once again welcoming guests to stroll the vibrant rows and handpick their own fresh, juicy berries straight from the bush, and much more.

Located at 4200 N Canoe Creek Rd., Double C Bar Ranch has become a springtime staple for locals and visitors alike. The picturesque blueberry fields are open to the public Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., offering a relaxing and tasty outdoor experience for all ages.

And while blueberry picking is the main attraction, there’s plenty more to enjoy at the ranch. Guests can treat themselves to a mouthwatering oak grilled ranch burger or snack on a pile of fresh-cut curly fries. Craving something sweet? Don’t miss Lynn’s famous blueberry hand pies, made with love and the farm’s very own berries. The Sims Family Lemonade Stand offers the perfect refreshment for a sunny day, and the on-site Farm Store has a variety of homemade and local goodies to bring home.

New this year is an exciting Trolley Tour around the Ranch, giving guests a chance to kick back, ride in style, and soak in the scenic views while learning more about the history and daily operations of this working ranch and blueberry farm.

Families are encouraged to mark their calendars for Homeschool Day on April 16, a special opportunity for educational fun and hands-on learning in the field.

A few helpful things to remember when planning your visit:

  • U-Pick blueberries are $6 per pound, and the provided buckets hold about six pounds each.

  • Pre-picked blueberries, when available, are $8 per pound.

  • The ranch has expanded its covered picnic area, but since the farm is completely open-air and the forecast usually calls for sunshine, bring a hat or sunscreen to stay cool and protected.

  • Restrooms and a hand-washing station are available under the covered area.

  • No pets are allowed on the farm due to food safety regulations. If you bring a pet, staff will kindly ask that they be returned to your vehicle.

  • And before you leave, be sure to ask about their homegrown Pasture+® Beef—now available in ground, half, or whole beef portions. More details can be found on the ranch’s website.
