It’s estimated that more than 1.5 million travelers will pass through the Orlando International Airport during the Fourth of July travel period, the 11-day travel period between June 28 and July 8.
The projected traffic numbers, which includes anticipated arrivals and departures, would be a 4.2 percent increase over last year’s traffic through the airport.
“With Orlando being named the top Fourth of July travel destination by AAA, we are preparing for an influx in travelers at Orlando International Airport,” said Phillip Brown, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s Chief Executive Officer. “When you combine Orlando’s summertime popularity with a holiday falling near a weekend, we ask members of the traveling public to pack their patience as they navigate through our world-class facility.”

Passengers departing from Orlando International Airport are encouraged to arrive two hours before their flight to ensure enough time to get through the check-in process and airport security screenings.
