Here’s some good news on the coronavirus front heading into the holiday weekend: new COVID-19 cases are still being logged at a very low rate, and fatalities and hospitalizations are holding very steady.

For the second consecutive day the Florida Department of Health reported just four new cases in Osceola for a current total of 644 since the first was reported on March 13 — that’s only 28 of them in the last week. The number of hospitalizations (153) has risen by only five since last Friday.

Numbers across the state remain steady as well; Florida added just over 700 cases overnight to reach 49,451. About 50 new deaths have been reported each day this week to reach 2,190 fatalities.
