A 37-year-old Kissimmee man died in a head-on crash early Sunday after driving the wrong way on State Road 429 in Osceola County, according to FHP.
Shortly after 6 a.m., 37-year-old Dennis Anderson was driving his 2011 Ford van south in the northbound lanes of the toll road — near the Four Corners area in Osceola County when he collided head-on with a 2011 Tesla sedan, said FHP spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.
The driver of the Tesla, 31-year-old Justin Hutto from Kissimmee, tried to avoid the crash, according to Montes, but the van flipped on its side and the driver was thrown from the vehicle.
The van’s driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. Hutto was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, according to FHP’s Montes.
