Kissimmee’s Lakefront Park Festival Lawn was abuzz with excitement and festivity as the City celebrated its 141st birthday with the annual Kowtown Festival. Under clear blue skies and embraced by a gentle breeze, the event unfolded as a vibrant tapestry of community spirit and cultural celebration.
The festival boasted a plethora of activities designed to delight attendees of all ages. The KUA Kids Power Zone and the FWC Kids Fishing Zone offered younger guests a chance to dive into fun, educational activities. The day was sweetened with birthday cupcakes, a treat that symbolized the city’s rich history and bright future. Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, a petting zoo provided a hands-on experience with animals, while Big John’s Rockin’ Barbecue and an array of food trucks served up delicious eats, from savory barbecue to an assortment of global cuisines.
Crafts and games courtesy of Toho Water Authority, alongside an array of vendors and exhibits, added a layer of interactive enjoyment. The air was filled with the sounds of live music that truly was “off the chain,” setting an upbeat tempo for the day’s festivities.
Sean Holcomb, an Orlando native known for his blend of country, Americana, and Southern soul, opened the event with a performance that captivated the audience. Holcomb’s history of sharing stages with country music luminaries set the perfect tone for the day. His combination of guitar and violin, alongside powerful harmonies and a vibrant stage presence, was an impeccable kickoff to the festival.

Hailed by Billboard as the “Next Hot Trend in Country Music” and drawing comparisons to The Chicks for a new generation, Runaway June delivered a performance that captivated the hearts of everyone present. Comprising Stevie Woodward, Natalie Stovall, and Jennifer Wayne, the trio’s rich, organic harmonies and fiery, western-rooted bluegrass sound electrified the crowd. Their performance was a masterful blend of country, pop, funk, R&B, and sweet southern soul with a contemporary flare, leaving the festival lawn audience singing along, clapping, jumping, and smiling from ear to ear.
