The Osceola Kowboys improved their record Thursday night in Osceola County to 2-0 in 8A, District 7 and now have sole possession of 1st place in the district. They are once again gaining momentum with each win toward their seventh unbeaten district championship, and in the next two weeks they’ll play on the road vs. Haines City and Lakeland George Jenkins. Neither team should present the powerhouse Kowboys much of a challenge, but the Gateway Panthers seemed to unsettle the Kowboys game plan in the first half of Thursdays matchup with what was almost a 0-0 tie going into halftime.

The Kowboys defense kept the Panthers offense at bay until their offense could get themselves on track in the second half. Gateway quarterback Maurice Adams III was sacked three times and Gateway was held to minus-14 rushing yards and only 23 total yards by the Kowboys powerhouse defense.

Osceola quarterback Braxton Jones finally connected with Fillimore Wynter on a 12-yard TD pass inside the final 2 minutes of the first half.

Shortly after halftime Osceola’s Malachi Wilson picked off Gateway’s quarterback Maurice Adams III and ran 41 yards for a touch down and a 12-0 lead.

Gateway’s Adams was sacked shortly thereafter setting up an 18-yard touchdown run growing the lead to 18-0.
After a 1-yard TD run by Patrick Kelly, the Kowboys were leading 25-0.

Kelly ran for 43 yards on 10 carries. TayQuan Pinellas ran for 70 yards which included a 6-yard touchdown run in the final quarter for Osceola’s final score of 31-0.

Osceola heads to Haines City next week and Positively Osceola will be keeping you updated throughout the game!
