Kissimmee Utility Authority has announced the winners of its 28th annual student calendar art contest. Open to Osceola County students in kindergarten through fifth grade, the contest promotes energy conservation among students and their families.
This year a total of 1,229 entries were received from 15 Osceola County elementary schools. A panel of judges, which included Positively Osceola, met in November and selected 12 entries – one for each calendar month – that will be featured in the utility’s 2022 Calendar of Energy Conservation.
The winners are:

- Delilah Gonzalez, Mater Palms Academy, Grade 4
- Rishik Vihaan Muguda Rajesh, Osceola Science Charter School, Grade 4
- Mariana Gallegos, East Lake Elementary, Grade 4
- Valentina Vargas, Central Avenue Elementary School, Grade 4
- Genesis Gomes, Renaissance Charter School at Boggy Creek, Grade 5
- Katelyn Martinez, Holy Redeemer Catholic School Grade 4
- Adrian Quiñones, Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Grade 5
- Mikaylah Dy, Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Grade 5
- Desiree Torres, Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Grade 5
- Iarah Medilien, East Lake Elementary School, Grade 4
- Leticia Barreto, Renaissance Charter School at Boggy Creek, Grade 5
The 12 winning students will have their artwork featured in this year’s 2022 calendar and each will receive a $150 cash prize. The grand prize winner’s name and artwork will be featured on the calendar cover and will be affixed to a KUA fleet vehicle for one year.
The grand prize winner’s school, Holy Redeemer Catholic School, will receive $750 in art supplies, and Flora Ridge Elementary will receive $500 in art supplies for submitting the most total entries in the contest.
The calendars will be distributed free of charge beginning in January.
