Lakeview Elementary School fifth grader Vanellope has been crowned the winner of the Orlando Utilities Commission’s (OUC) 2025 Watts Savings Project Calendar Contest. Her vibrant cover design, featuring a rising sun and an unplugged lamp accompanied by the slogan, “Use the sunlight to help you in the darkness,” perfectly captures the theme of energy conservation.
Vanellope’s thoughtful message and creative artwork earned her the top spot among entries submitted by students across Osceola County. The calendar will also showcase artwork from 12 other talented students, further highlighting the community’s budding creativity and commitment to sustainability.
OUC has announced plans to celebrate Vanellope and her fellow student artists during an awards ceremony next month, where their contributions to promoting energy conservation will be honored.
The 2025 Watts Savings Project Calendar will serve as a visual reminder of the importance of energy efficiency, showcasing the creativity of Osceola County’s youth throughout the year.
