An Orlando man was arrested on Tuesday that authorities say beat a person to death during a ‘sexual encounter’ meetup, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Osceola deputies responded to a suspicious death report near Kissimmee early September and found a man’s body that appeared to have been beaten and dressed in bondage gear.
Detectives found later that 34-year-old Bryant Scott Demelo was the last person that had been in contact with the victim. Deputies say they then met with Demelo, who said he and the victim arranged to meet in person through an online chat group for sexual encounters.
Demelo told deputies that he beat the victim during a sexual encounter, leaving him seriously injured and unconscious, according to the news release.
The medical examiner said that the victim was also strangled.
Demelo was arrested in Seminole County and is waiting extradition to Osceola County. He faces manslaughter charges and possession of methamphetamine.
