A Monday afternoon head-on crash on Poinciana Boulevard between a semi-truck and an SUV left one man dead and another seriously injured and in the hospital.
Just before 4 pm on Monday, a 40-year-old man from Haines City was driving a semi-truck northbound on Poinciana Boulevard near Isles of Bellalago Drive when he drove off the roadway and into the shoulder. The truck driver overcorrected and crossed into the southbound lanes of Poinciana Boulevard where he struck an SUV head-on that was traveling southbound.
The man who was driving the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and has still not been identified. The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
