Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital is celebrating the 60th anniversary of care at its location in the heart of St. Cloud, a milestone of service to the Osceola County community.

Since 1964, the hospital, formerly known as St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, has been providing high-quality healthcare to patients with a broad range of services, advanced technology and a skilled team of care providers.

“Achieving 60 years of caring for the residents of St. Cloud within this facility is a remarkable milestone,” said Brian Wetzel, President of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. “It’s touching to think about the number of people, patients and families, who have been helped, in often very difficult times, over those six decades.”

As an 84-bed, acute care hospital, Orlando Health St. Cloud offers comprehensive emergency, inpatient and outpatient care, with specialties including cardiology, critical care, infectious disease, pulmonology, orthopedics, radiology and full surgical services, plus an outpatient Rehabilitation Services and a Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center.

Orlando Health St. Cloud is soon expanding its ability and capacity to care for patients with the addition of two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory procedure rooms, plus a new 10-bed intensive care unit. To make room for the development, the hospital’s helipad was relocated to the west side of the campus and extra parking spaces were added to accommodate the growth.

“Although Orlando Health may not have been here for those entire 60 years of history, we are thankful to be in St. Cloud since July 2020 and we look forward to the future that we are building together to enhance the quality care that Orlando Health is now providing and to the expansion of services and specialties being offered by our amazing team of care givers to St. Cloud residents and visitors,” Wetzel said. “We certainly look forward to the next 60 years together!”

At Orlando Health St. Cloud, the team of medical experts includes skilled, board-certified physicians, nurses and support team members who are dedicated to providing patients with the best possible care in a safe environment.

As a reflection of this dedication to excellence, Orlando Health St. Cloud has earned multiple awards and certifications, including The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Primary Stroke Center Accreditation. In 2023, Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital was selected for the second year in a row by Modern Healthcare as one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

To celebrate the anniversary, Orlando Health St. Cloud invited the community to submit art in all mediums that express how the hospital has impacted their life. Submissions will be displayed around the hospital and a reception will be held at the hospital cafe on March 19, 2024 from 6 – 7 p.m.
