Taking to the friendly skies is becoming a more attractive option for many travelers this Thanksgiving holiday season. Air travel at Orlando International Airport (MCO), Florida’s busiest airport and sixth busiest for departures in the nation, is set to reach approximately 50 percent of pre-COVID-19 levels. In fact, half of the 12 holiday travel days, which begab on Friday, November 20th, are expected to see traffic above 40 thousand daily departures at MCO. Contributing to the news, more airlines are offering or plan to offer additional or renewed service during the holiday season at Orlando International.

“For some, the desire to travel and spend time with family and friends this holiday season is a priority,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “At MCO we want to assure all those traveling here during the Thanksgiving holiday that they will be safe and our facilities will be clean in accordance with our recently awarded Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation.”

Holiday travel reminders:
