On Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Belinda Kirkegard to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

Kirkegard has been the Economic Development Director for the City of Kissimmee since 2009 and was named the Orlando Business Journal’s Women Who mean Business Executive of the Year in 2019.

She has lived and been an active member of the Central Florida community for more than 30 years. Belinda and her husband, Eric, are the proud parents of Victoria and Christian.

She serves on the Board of Directors of there Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and the Advent Health Central Florida Division.

Kirkegard earned her bachelor’s degree in public administration and political science from the University of Central Florida and her master of public administration from Troy State University.

If confirmed by the Florida Senate, she will join the board with another recent Kissimmee appointee, Real Estate Broker Tim Weisheyer.
