The Orlando Pride (0-0-2, 3 points) displayed resilience with two second-half goals to secure a 2-2 draw against C.F. Monterrey Femenil (0-1-1, 1 point) in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup on Saturday night at Inter&Co Stadium. The Pride claimed two additional points by winning the post-match shootout 5-4, thanks to a crucial save by Sofia Manner and successful conversions by all five Pride players.

The Pride had to come from behind twice during the game. Alex Kerr scored her first professional goal to make it 1-1 early in the second half, and Julie Doyle leveled the score again at 2-2 late in the match, marking her third goal of the 2024 season and first of the Summer Cup.

Kylie Strom provided her first assist of the season on Kerr’s goal, which is also the second assist of her career. Celia earned her first assist of the 2024 season and the first of her career with the Pride.

The match was also notable for several player debuts. Sofia Manner made her NWSL debut as the Pride’s goalkeeper, recording three saves during the game and another crucial save in the shootout. Midfielder Evelina Duljan and forward Mariana Larroquette also made their first starts in a Pride jersey.
