With the COVID-19 pandemic still negatively impacting many families and individuals in the Osceola community, Osceola County Commissioner for District 2 Viviana Janer and Farmshare partnered together on Friday September 10th at Archie Gordon Memorial Park in Kissimmee to provide those in need with a drive-thru food distribution.

Over 400 families who have been experiencing food insecurity were able to pick up free produce, beverages, and other groceries for their families. After speaking to numerous  members of the community, for some the groceries they received were extra for their pantry, which they were grateful to have not knowing what course the pandemic will take,  but for some they said everything is crucial to their budget these days and they were very appreciative of the food distribution.

Along with Commissioner Janer and Farm Share, New Dimensions High School provided over a dozen students to help distribute the food.

According to Commissioner Janer, the next food distribution will take place at Archie Gordon Memorial Park on November 12th and turkeys will be part of the distribution.
