Osceola County, Fla. — While many residents were celebrating the arrival of the New Year, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was focused on keeping local roadways safe during one of the most dangerous nights of the year.

On December 31, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office DUI Unit conducted a countywide DUI Saturation Patrol from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as part of the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative. The proactive enforcement effort aimed to identify and remove impaired drivers before crashes and injuries could occur.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted 33 traffic stops during the overnight operation. As a result, seven impaired drivers were arrested for DUI.

In addition to DUI arrests, deputies issued:

  • 1 speeding citation

  • 21 other citations

  • 15 warnings

In total, 37 citations were issued during the New Year’s Eve saturation patrol.

Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon commended members of the Traffic Unit for their dedication and vigilance, noting their commitment to public safety during a high-risk holiday period. The Sheriff’s Office also expressed appreciation to MADD of Central Florida for its continued partnership in educating the public about the dangers of impaired driving.
