On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Osceola Reads presented Chris Gent of Kissimmee Utility Authority with the Osceola Reads Partner of the Year Award. The ongoing support from KUA to Osceola Reads has been truly inspirational and has made a positive difference in the lives of the children who have been able to utilize the free Footsteps2Brilliance reading app that Osceola Reads promotes. Osceola Reads, along with the Education Foundation of Osceola County, emphasizes early childhood literacy for all children in Osceola County and is so appreciative of Kissimmee Utility Authority for providing tablets for reading race giveaways and also space at community events to Osceola Reads so that they are able to engage with families in the community.
Osceola Reads is one of our cornerstone programs at the Education Foundation and improving early literacy is a priority for our community. Sharing this message takes a village across a community and it was our pleasure to present this year’s Partner of the Year award along with our funding partners to Kissimmee Utility Authority. Chris Gent and the team at KUA regularly give us free space at all of their events, they have provided Amazon Fire tablets for us to give away to our Ultimate Reading Race winners and free space in their bill inserts. Partnerships are the backbone of this County and we are grateful for theirs.
