The holiday break is coming to an end and in the School District of Osceola County the month of January is chock-full of important dates those of you with school-aged children will want to add to your calendars.

Tuesday: Classes resume for 2020 on the first day of the third nine weeks. (PLEASE remember that school buses and students walking and cycling to school will be back on the streets. Be careful, drivers!)

Tuesday afternoon: School Board meeting at 5:30 p.m., preceded by a Facilities Workshop at 4 p.m.

Jan. 13-15: Incoming orientation for incoming 9th Graders at Poinciana High (13th, 6-7:30 p.m); St. Cloud High (14th, 6-7:30), Osceola County School for the Arts (15th, 6-8).

Jan. 16: Incoming 6th Grade Orientation Night at all middle schools, 6-7:30.

Jan. 20: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Teacher and Student Holiday.

Jan. 21: School Board meeting, 5:30 p.m., preceded by Strategic Plan workshop, 3:30 p.m.

Jan. 22: Incoming 9th Grader orientation at Celebration High (5:30-7), Gateway High (6-8), Harmony High (6-8), Liberty High (5:30-7:30) and Osceola High (5-6:30).

Jan. 23: Incoming 9th Grade Orientation Night at NeoCity Academy (5-7 p.m., Professional and Technical High (PATHS, 5-6) and Tohopekaliga High (6-7:30).

Jan. 27: 2nd nine weeks report cards go home.
