OUC recently hosted an engaging Youth Energy Academy, offering local students a hands-on experience to explore careers in the utility industry.

Around 65 students from Osceola, Orange, Seminole, and Lake counties participated in interactive learning sessions at OUC’s Conway Water Treatment Plant. Activities included a “Balancing the Grid” workshop led by the Orlando Science Center and a Mock Hurricane Simulation conducted by BAM (Black Architects in the Making) Orlando.

The 13th Annual Orlando Youth Energy Academy is a two-day career exploration event in partnership with the American Association of Blacks in Energy, OUC, Duke Energy and Siemens. The event aims to generate interest by educating a diverse group of young people about opportunities, technology and innovation in the energy arena.
