A 36-year-old man died after he was struck by an SUV Friday night while trying to cross I4 in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place around 9:30 p.m. at mile marker 65 as the man from Fieldon, Illinois crossed I-4’s eastbound lanes, over the median and then entered the westbound lanes, according to an FHP crash report.
The man walked into the direct path of an SUV where the was struck by the oncoming SUV, troopers said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV, a 27-year-old New Jersey man, was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, troopers said.
