A pedestrian was struck and killed b y a freight train in Kissimmee early Monday morning causing US 192 to be shutdown and SunRail to cancel two of its trains, officials said.

U.S. Highway 192 was closed from Orange Blossom Trail to Michigan Street due to the freight train accident that was blocking the roadway. U.S. 192 was reopened around 8:30 am.

According to police,  the incident was reported shortly after 2 am Monday morning  prompting a medical examiner to be called to investigate the incident. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

SunRail uses the tracks involved in the accident causing them to cancel two of its scheduled trains. SunRail tweeted this at 8:16am, “Train P313 SB is canceled due to a previous incident. All other trains are on time.”
