The Powerball jackpot is once again making headlines as it closes in on the billion-dollar mark. For Saturday night’s drawing, the jackpot is estimated at $950 million, with a cash option of $428.9 million—the game’s sixth-largest prize and the biggest advertised jackpot in over a year.
The massive prize comes after no ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing, which produced the winning numbers 9, 12, 22, 41, 61 and Powerball 25. The Power Play® multiplier was 4.
While the jackpot rolled over, several players walked away with big wins. Six tickets matched all five white balls to claim $1 million prizes—sold in Arizona, New York, and Virginia. In Mississippi, Ohio, and Virginia, three players doubled their winnings to $2 million each by including the Power Play option.
Additionally, 40 tickets won $50,000, and 10 tickets scored $200,000. In the separate Double Play® drawing, a ticket sold in South Dakota matched all five black balls to claim a $500,000 prize.
Saturday’s drawing will be the 39th since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31, 2025. If a winner emerges, they can choose between the annuitized prize—paid over 30 years with annual increases—or a lump-sum payment of $428.9 million, both before taxes.
Powerball tickets are sold for $2 per play in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since its first drawing in 1992, Powerball has generated more than $36 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery studio in Tallahassee and are broadcast live and streamed on Powerball.com.
The odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
