Toho Water Authority is announcing road and lane closures in Kissimmee occurring on Wednesday, December 16 to conduct road milling which is the removal of asphalt. Motorists should use precaution when approaching these milled areas as there will be a slight drop in the road and have an uneven surface. The following day, the roads will close again to be paved. Each area will be closed for a few hours at different times each day. The closures will occur in the following areas :

  • W. Bass Street – Between Union Street and Robinson Avenue.
  • N. Stewart Avenue – Between W. Darlington Avenue and Broadway. W. Verona Street from N. Stewart Avenue will be closed as well.
  • W. Emmett Street – From the S. Alden Street intersection to the S. Lilly Street intersection.
  • Neptune Road – Shifting lane closures in the Glendale Drive area. The Glendale Drive and Neptune Road intersection will also be closed.

All areas except for W. Bass Street will close again on Monday, December 21 for a few hours to conduct road markings. The closures are part of the restoration work relating to recent sewer rehabilitation projects in the area.

The project is being carried out by Garney Construction. Schedules could vary according to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching these areas, as workers will be present and speed limits may be reduced and sidewalks possibly closed and diverted. Signage will be placed as needed to keep the traveling public informed of the project.
