The Salvation Army of Osceola County has marked another inspiring milestone in its Pathway to Housing program, part of the national Pathway of Hope initiative aimed at helping families break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. The program recently celebrated the Quiceno family as the seventh household to achieve homeownership — a testament to the power of partnership, education, and perseverance.

Through the program, the Quiceno family will now raise their children in a home they own, securing long-term stability and the foundation to build generational wealth. Reflecting on their journey, the family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the guidance and support they received.

“We are beyond grateful to Osceola County and The Salvation Army and all involved for walking so closely beside us,” the Quiceno family shared. “From workshops and credit counseling to accountability and encouragement, every step of the way we felt supported and prepared for success. We now look forward to raising our children in our own home and building a brighter future together.”

The Pathway to Housing program equips participants with the tools and knowledge needed to sustain financial independence through a holistic approach that includes case management, financial education, credit counseling, and practical homeownership workshops.

“This milestone is about more than just closing on a house—it’s about breaking cycles and building futures,” said Emma Peña, Pathway to Housing Program Director. “The Quiceno family’s success shows what’s possible when families commit to the process and when the community rallies together to provide the resources and support they need. We’re excited to see even more families reach this same dream before the year ends.”

By strengthening families and expanding access to generational wealth, Pathway to Housing continues to advance The Salvation Army’s mission of building brighter futures throughout Osceola County.
