The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a phone scam that has defrauded a local elderly victim out of a sum of money.
On Wednesday, the victim reported being defrauded of $10,000 during a phone scam. The caller advised the victim that her grandson had been arrested and needed that $10,000 to bond out. The victim agreed to provide the funds and withdrew the money. With the money obtained, she was told the suspects would send someone to her residence to retrieve the money, and later on Wednesday that unknown subject pictured below arrived at her residence and collected the money.
The victim later discovered that her grandson had not been arrested and the incident was a scam. There is no vehicle information available at this time.
