When the 2021-2022 school year starts this fall, things will look a little different in the athletics department at Saint Cloud High School, and fortunately, it’s not COVID-19 related. This time the change will come in the form of a new face in the wrestling room.
That’s right, former Gateway High School head coach Mike Short has been named the Bulldogs’ new head varsity wrestling coach.
Coach Short brings several years of wrestling experience to the varsity program at Saint Cloud High, having served as an assistant at schools in the Midwest before coming to the sunshine state where he would become the head coach at Gateway High School.
Short looks forward to building a strong program on the Bulldog mats stating “we’re gonna be solid on the mat, I’ll tell you that now.”
You’ll not only find Coach Short on the Bulldogs’ mats, you’ll also be able to find him on the sidelines the Fall as the offensive coach next to Varsity Football Coach Bryan Smart.
