City of St. Cloud Mayor Nathan Blackwell has been appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities Legislative Committee as the Tri-County League of Cities representative.
The Legislative Committee reviews the recommended legislative priorities of the League’s five legislative policy committees. Based on this review, the Legislative Committee votes on a proposed Legislative Platform, which is then submitted to the full League membership for consideration and adoption.
Mayor Blackwell also serves on FLC’s Board of Directors, and is the first St. Cloud Council member to do so.
The Florida League of Cities serves the needs of the state’s cities and promotes local self-government. The Florida League of Cities represents more than 400 cities, towns and villages throughout Florida, helping to ensure that local decisions are made at the local level.
“I am honored to serve on the Florida League of Cities and to serve on its Legislative Committee,” Blackwell said.
Mayor Blackwell, who has served as City of St. Cloud Mayor since 2016, also serves on the Florida League of Mayors Board of Directors, and on the Executive Board of the Florida Tri-County League of Cities, of which he serves as President in December.
Mayor Blackwell is senior pastor of Cornerstone Family Church. He and his wife, Trish, have two adult children and five grandchildren.
