City of St. Cloud management continues monitoring Hurricane Irma and preparing for possible impact to Central Florida. Municipality officials announce the following:

Citizens Information Line – The municipality’s information line 407-957-7161 has been activated. Residents may call the phone line Sept. 5 until 6 p.m. and Sept. 6-8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Cloud City Council Emergency Meeting – The council will meet Sept. 6, 6 p.m., in City Hall Council Chambers to discuss and declare a state of emergency for the city of St. Cloud regarding Hurricane Irma. The meeting may be viewed on www.stcloud.org > Webcasts or on SCTV 499 (cable channel 499).

Sand Bags – City of St. Cloud will provide information on sand and bags no later than Sept. 7.

“At this time, we urge our residents to monitor the weather forecasts,” said City of St. Cloud Division of Emergency Management Manager Bill Johnston. “We have a major storm in the Atlantic that may be traveling toward our state and we need to take it seriously. Everyone should be preparing their emergency supply kits to last at least 72 hours and preparing their homes. It’s best to be safe than sorry and you have time to prepare as best as you can for Hurricane Irma.”
