Tesla Inc. has announced the recall of 475,000 of its cars in the United States, about the same amount of vehicles it delivered last year, due to technical defects that may increase the chance of accidents.

The company says it will recall 356,309 Model 3 vehicles that were produced between 2017 and 2020 because of a cable harness for the rear-view camera that can potentially become damaged by the normal opening and closing of the trunk. The cable harness could then keep the rear image from showing.

119,009 of Tesla’s Model S cars are also being recalled due to a faulty front-trunk latch that might cause the front hood to suddenly open, obstructing the driver’s view, according to an NHTSA statement. Tesla says it will repair both issues at no cost to the owners of the vehicles.
