The Florida Department of Health reported a ninth COVID-19 related death in Osceola this morning. Information on the person’s age and gender is not yet available.

The DOH reports 514 cases today, coronavirus-related hospitalizations are down to 134 reported, and the county’s COVID-19 dashboard shows over 300 available hospital beds.

Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke this morning of continuing to expand testing across Florida; the Osceola County-run site has moved from St. Cloud High School to Bellalago Academy in Poinciana from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Thursday (call 407-343-2000 to make an appointment), and will move to the Community Hope Center next week.

He said that of 29,884 test results received on Monday, just over 700 were positive — a 2.61 percent positive clip.

DeSantis said a mobile lab housing in an RV will test in different daily locations across the state that will return same-day results. It will focus on senior living facilities, but there’s no word yet if or when it will be in our area.
