As 2025 continues to march on and the calendar turns to February, residents and visitors across Osceola County and Central Florida prepare to embrace their Western roots with the legendary Silver Spurs Rodeo. A cornerstone of local culture since 1944, this cherished event is more than just a rodeo—it’s a celebration of heritage, camaraderie, and thrilling competition. Leading this year’s festivities is Randy Booth, Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Riding Club, proudly continuing his family’s enduring legacy of leadership.

Randy Booth’s role is deeply ingrained in his family’s history, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, “Doc” Partin; father, Tom Booth; and brother, Ricky Booth—all former Big Bosses of the club. “This is an incredible honor,” Booth shared. “To carry on this tradition and contribute to our community’s rich cowboy culture is truly special.”

Booth’s connection to the Silver Spurs Riding Club began in childhood, participating in the quadrille, a coordinated horseback performance that remains a hallmark of the club. He fondly recalls riding in the old arena as a young boy, experiences that cemented his passion for preserving the sport and the traditions of the Silver Spurs.

Over the years, Booth has taken on numerous roles within the club. From promoting the rodeo through signage along major roadways to stocking concession stands and hauling livestock, Booth has been an integral part of the club’s operations. He has also volunteered for the Special Rodeo, an event designed to ensure individuals with special needs can experience the joy of rodeo.

Despite his behind-the-scenes focus, Booth is eager to embrace the spotlight as Big Boss. “The heart of the Silver Spurs Riding Club is its volunteers,” Booth emphasized. “Their dedication not only sustains the club but also strengthens our community through outreach and philanthropy.”

Booth’s family remains actively involved in the club’s activities. His parents assist with organizing the Hospitality Room, his wife, Summer, contributes both on and off the arena floor, and his son, Rylan, continues the family tradition as a Junior Quadrille rider. Booth’s vision as Big Boss includes preserving the club’s traditions while enhancing its community engagement and ensuring the Silver Spurs legacy thrives for future generations.

With Booth at the helm, the Silver Spurs Riding Club is poised to deliver another spectacular season, bringing the community together to celebrate the Western spirit, embrace Osceola’s rich cowboy heritage, and enjoy the electrifying action of the rodeo.
