The world’s a heavy place right now. Let’s think of some positive things.

Sports.

Football.

The football season, in some form or fashion, is coming!

And in college football, UCF led the American Athletic Conference with 17 selections as Athlon Sports has named it’s AAC 2020 All-Conference Team. The selections are based on how players will perform in 2020. Career statistics and awards matter in the evaluation, but choosing players for the 2020 all-conference team is largely based on predicting and projecting the best for the upcoming year.

Four Knights cracked the First Team: offensive lineman Cole Schneider, defensive lineman Kenny Turnier and safety Richie Grant and punt returner Otis Anderson.

Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, coming off a fine true freshman season, is the Second Team Offense’s quarterback, while linebacker Eric Mitchell, cornerback Aaron Robinson and safety Antwan Collier are on the Second Team Defense.

Running back Greg McRae, wide receiver Tre Nixon, offensive lineman Sam Jackson and Anderson as on all-purpose selection made the Third Team Offense, and defensive end Randy Charlton is on the Third Team Defense.

On the Fourth Team, offensive lineman Parker Boudreaux made the offense, defensive lineman Kalia Davis and cornerback Tay Gowan made the defense, and punter Andrew Osteen was a special teams selection.

These are all players to watch when the UCF Knights go for their fourth consecutive 10-win season. The 2020 campaign is scheduled to begin on Friday, Sept. 4 in a prime-time matchup against North Carolina.
