The 154th Silver Spurs Rodeo officially kicked off Thursday night with Student Night, where Osceola County students received free admission with a valid school ID. The evening was filled with high-energy rodeo action, setting the stage for an exciting weekend at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee. Students and families packed the stands, witnessing thrilling bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing as top cowboys and cowgirls competed for victory.

As the largest professional rodeo east of the Mississippi, the Silver Spurs Rodeo has been a staple of Osceola County’s ranching heritage since 1944. Organized by the Silver Spurs Riding Club, the event continues to draw elite rodeo talent from across the nation, keeping the Western legacy alive for new generations.

Rodeo Day in Osceola County is up next tonight, Friday, February 21, a long-standing local tradition where students have the day off from school to celebrate the rodeo and its deep roots in the community. Established in the 1950s, this day replaces President’s Day in Osceola County, further highlighting the area’s connection to ranching and rodeo culture.
