Positively Osceola asked a number of positive leaders in the community to share their hope and their plans for the new year, and how we can encourage and support each other in 2022.  We asked Mike Dech, owner of Mike Dech’s Scuba Instruction, to share his hope and outlook for 2022.

Coming out of 2021, I’d say most of us are simply exhausted. We’re tired from having to cover or organize shortages in staffing, we’re tired from the stress of the last few years, and while a handful of people thrive on it, most of us are tired of the divisive chaos that has seeped into our day to day lives.

Moving into 2022, my hope is for a year of finding our footing again and seeking some amount of peace within ourselves, our homes, and our communities. Rediscover your joy, your bliss, what makes you comfortable. Put your phone down and pick up a book. Make time for your family. Discover new music.

Put on your dive gear and make some bubbles while you find serenity underwater. Whatever it is, pick it up and go. Most importantly in 2022, be thoughtful and kind. None of us has gone through the last few years unaffected.

I would normally say “stay positive,” but I guess these days we should be saying “stay negative.” See what I did there? Anyone?
