A 22-year-old Kissimmee woman was fatally struck by a pickup truck Sunday night as she was crossing Poinciana Boulevard near Poinciana High School, according to FHP.
The fatal crash took place around 8:30 p.m. at Poinciana Boulevard and Waterview Estates Boulevard when a 2015 Ford F-150 that was being driven by a 28-year-old Kissimmee man and was heading south on Poinciana Boulevard struck the woman who was walking in a crosswalk and walked directly in the path of the pickup.
According to Florida High Patrol, a witness told troopers the pickup had a green light when it struck the predestrian.
The FHP crash report said that the man driving the pickup continued to drive after striking the woman, before returning to the scene, saying he didn’t know what he had hit.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the FHP and the investigation is active.
